Dr.Choquette Hamilton (She/Her)
RISE Founder and CEO
Dr. Choquette Hamilton is the Founder and CEO of The
RISE Child Development Center, Inc., our anti-racist
organization created to dismantle inequity in
early childhood education.
In her spare time, Dr. Hamilton likes to hang out with her husband, Greg and two sons, Gregory (age 10) and
William (age 8).

Crystal Elliott-O’Connor (she/her)
Managing Director of Content and Curriculum
Crystal manages the content and curriculum
at the RISE Center. Being involved in activism at an
early age, she has a thread of racial justice that
runs through all of the work she does.
The RISE Center is her home. It’s the fit she’s
been looking for to ignite
the work of creating a non-racialize
culture of early care and education.

Hailey Truong (she/her)
Social Media Manager
Hailey works closely with the Founder and CEO, Dr.
Choquette Hamilton, in managing all of RISE’s
social media accounts, creating content, and
helping brainstorm campaign ideas.
Hailey couldn’t be more excited to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to such an
important cause.

Alxis Turner (she/her)
Executive Assistant to the CEO
Alxis ensures every task on the RISE team’s collective
to-do list is completed on time with quality and
excellence. Alxis believes that early childhood
education is every child’s right, and the quality in
which they receive it highlyreflects on their lives.
As a strong believer in social justice, equity,
equality, and rights to ever-improving education
and mental health for children,
The RISE Center’s mission and values
resonated and continue to resonate with
her own.

Lizzy Bermudez (she/her)
Website manager
As a project manager, Lizzy guides the changes made
to RISE’s website and sends out monthly newsletters
for subscribers to stay updated in the RISE
community. Prior to joining RISE, Lizzy worked as a
preschool teacher with an interest in childhood
education. At RISE, she enjoys being behind the
scenes and working with the team in making
positive changes for the future.

Fakelia Guyton (she/her)
Research and Evaluation Associate
As a Community Psychologist and researcher, FaKelia provides thought leadership from a Critical
Race Theory perspective and develops a literature review,
theory of change, an evaluation logic model, and program evaluation processes.
FaKelia joined RISE in June 2022, and she helped launch the first pilot of our Anti-Racism Early
Childhood Learning Series. She says that she is supporting RISE “all the way until LIBERATION reaches all of humanity on behalf of young children everywhere!”
